OUR STORY

Rozvinuti` of Srdce is a Serteen club that has branched from Sertoma (SERvice TO MAnkind). Sertoma is a national community service organization dedicated to help others. We follow in their footsteps as young adolescents, promoting good citizenship and service to the less fortunate. Our purpose is simple, to be of service to mankind, to take charge and make a change in the lives of many others.

 

OUR NAME:

Rozvi, is short for Rozvinuti’ of Srdce or ‘Evolution of heart’ in Czech. This name was chosen for our community club because just as evolution does, we want our hearts to change for the better. We want to have a clearer prospective of the community and take one step at a time to make it a better place.

 

MEETINGS:

Meetings are held on every other Monday from 4:20 to 5:00pm, with the exception of holidays and emergencies. At the bi-monthly meetings, events are planned and decisions are made, so it is important that all members attend. Each member is allowed three excused absences per year. An excused absence does not include homework, forgetting, or failure to communicate. If you are unable to attend, call a sponsor, secretary, or the first vice-president no later than Sunday. Please plan ahead so the message will be received in time to be excused. More than one unexcused absence will result in the termination of his/her membership.

 

Meetings are held in the Cedar Ridge Lecture Hall. Please show respect for our meeting place by leaving it cleaner than you found it. Each member must act appropriately at the meetings to allow business to proceed.

Meetings are conducted by the President of the club and his/her board members: 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Historian. Adult sponsors/advisors offer support and guidance at the meetings and other services (sign contracts, contact businesses, act as chaperones).

 

MONTHLY NEWSLETTER:

Members will receive their newsletter the weekend prior to the first meeting of the month by email. The newsletter will contain important information regarding upcoming events. If you do not receive a newsletter, please email/call the Secretary.
